Region I, in conjunction with District and Magistrate courts around the Region, offers seven Adult/Felony Drug Courts in the following cities: Aztec/Farmington, Espanola, Taos, Raton, Las Vegas, Santa Fe, and Grants.

In addition to the systematic review and classification of new cases coming to the Region, the district, through a vendor contract, provides immediate counseling and housing services to meet the pressing needs of offenders at the outset of their supervision.
The Response Center is housed in this Region and it is a 24 hour 7 day per week operation that is staffed by Probation Parole Supervisors and Probation Parole Officers.
These problem solving courts offer an alternative to incarceration and provide an opportunity for offenders to better their lives through highly structured programming aimed at maintaining a sober and productive lifestyle.
Community Corrections programs also serve as a diversionary program for probation/parole violators who would otherwise likely be incarcerated.
The average caseload for these officers is between 100 and 125 per officer.
A gender specific caseload is housed in this Region and is specific to female offenders addressing their needs.
Restitution and counseling are examples of commonly imposed special conditions.
In addition to the standard conditions of Probation and/or Parole, offenders assigned to a special program must comply with additional supervision conditions.
